Summary

This position serves as the anchor to the team and provides essential support in helping to craft and execute our internal and external communications strategy and further enhance the global awareness of the Timex brand. The ideal candidate is passionate about PR, communications, relationship building and possess exceptional written and oral skills, can demonstrate keen strategic thinking, and have outstanding interpersonal communications skills as a company representative. You will report to the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and PR and will interact with both internal and external brands in a high-paced, energetic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and PR to define and develop the global internal and external communications strategy and vision aligning with the Timex Group key business initiatives and priorities.
  • Assist with PR activations to deliver positive ROI & achieve brand KPIs
  • Build ‘Best in Class’ global PR toolkit to provide other markets and regions key ideas and information on how to secure and build their own PR
  • Manage and execute PR mailer programs including product ordering, tracking and shipping and maintaining the PR closet and associated supplies
  • Assist with planning and execution of all events and editor mailers including: seasonal product previews, desksides, launch events, tastemaker cocktail parties, press trips, and year-round gifting
  • Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to PR and social media

Media Relations:

  • Serve as day-to-day contact for PR agency and internal/external partners
  • Collaborate with PR agency to secure top-tier media opportunities including but not limited to sample opportunities, event inclusions, celebrity ambassadors, industry awards, executive interviews, and more
  • Help develop and organize press materials including fact sheets, product images, product specs, press releases, lookbooks and other relevant materials
  • Develop and distribute monthly/quarterly PR highlights to key internal teams and stakeholders
  • Align with social/influencer team on all strategies, comms, and mailers to ensure consistency across all disciplines

Reporting:

  • Work closely with the PR agency and our reporting tools to monitor and track press coverage on all editorial features and align with the social team for social tracking and reporting
  • Create launch recaps to be shared with internal teams and senior management on a regular basis
  • Support tracking all editorial and trade coverage with understanding of key learnings based on KPIs and results to make recommendations for future activations and strategies
  • Maintain regular competitive research on product launches, awards, mailers, press, etc.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of recent experience with excellent writing skills in relevant role- applicants with a solid internship with relevant global brands will be consider
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Communications, Marketing or English from an accredited university
  • Strong communications strategy experience including planning and delivering coordinated communications across multiple media and a passion and energy for PR
  • Microsoft Office Suite & Cision Reporting Tool
  • Has a high degree of integrity and the ability to exercise discretion in confidential situations
  • Communicates clearly and informatively, both verbally and in writing with focus on attention to detail, with cross-functional teams, agencies, and our broader community of senior executives and stakeholders
  • Can focus on finding and developing unique opportunities, consistent with our core values and strategies that can create value for Timex Group
  • Proven ability work independently, manage time and resources, organize, and prioritize work across multiple projects, attend to details, and work within tight deadlines
