About This Position:

American Tin Ceilings is seeking a highly skilled and talented Artisan Polisher & Finisher to join our team. As an Artisan Polisher & Finisher, you will be responsible for adding the final touches to our tin ceiling products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual appeal of our products and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Location: Bradenton, FL. On-site.
  • Schedule: 7:00am – 3:30pm. Mon-Fri. Full time. Opportunities for overtime pay.
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $18.40 - $20.70 (experience & interview performance will determine actual number within the range).
  • Reports to: Production Lead

What You’ll Do:

  • Surface Preparation: Prepare tin ceiling panels and accessories for finishing by sanding, filling, and ensuring a smooth surface free from imperfections.
  • Finishing Techniques: Apply various finishing techniques, such as polishing, buffing, painting, staining, or coating, to enhance the appearance and durability of tin ceiling products.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards, including color consistency, surface smoothness, and overall visual appeal.
  • Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate polishing and finishing materials, including abrasives, compounds, solvents, paints, or coatings, based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot polishing and finishing equipment, including sanders, buffers, sprayers, or other tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Work Order Management: Follow work orders and production schedules to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Comply with environmental regulations and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, design, and quality assurance, to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the finishing process.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an Artisan Polisher & Finisher or in a similar role, preferably in the metal fabrication or construction industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of polishing, buffing, painting, staining, or coating techniques, and familiarity with various types of finishing materials and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in metal finishing or related field is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality, with the ability to identify and resolve surface imperfections.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work with hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and work in a fast-paced environment.
