Director, Sales

Trueform Concrete @ Renovation Brands

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Director of Sales for our Trueform Concrete brand, focusing on Inbound Sales growth. This position will exercise sound judgment to achieve sales of the Company’s product, drive awareness and specification, and manage a Sales Team of 3-4 direct reports effectively.

  • Location: Primarily on-site in Wharton, NJ with potential for Hybrid model.
  • Reports to: General Manager of Trueform Concrete.
  • On-site Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. (Outside of business hours as needed.)
  • Total Compensation: $145,000 - $155,000 estimated for first 12 months
    1. Base Salary: $105,000 - $110,000
    2. PLUS Uncapped Commission. (YOY sales growth criteria. Commission paid monthly.)

Primary Responsibilities – Sales & Management:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual sales goals.
  • Meet and/or exceed the Company’s annual sales and profit objectives.
  • Manage and develop the Inside Sales Team. Train staff in an in-office environment to upsell and to nurture “customers for life.”
  • Oversee and assist with structuring the Company’s sales force, including but not limited to, hiring additional sales personnel, analyzing compensation plans, determining future logistical opportunities, analyzing the organizational chart/culture, and working with team members to vet the Company’s business models for enhanced profitability.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices for the sales organization.
  • Utilize Sales Reporting Dashboards in Salesforce. Report on KPIs and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze sales results and aid with forecasting and demand planning.
  • Align needed investments / expenses to drive company sales efforts and programs.
  • Perform sales administrative duties including but not limited to, answering and making phone calls, emailing, internet research, assisting clients with placing online and custom orders, working with the project management and fabrication teams to successfully transfer projects to the next phase, estimating to provide clients with timely information, preparing contracts and invoices, processing and recording payments, etc.
  • Meet weekly with company leadership and sales team to assure executional excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Present to leadership and sales team a quarterly plan detailing quarterly objectives, key targets, and strategies to build relationships with those accounts.
  • Develop partnerships to support the strategy.
  • Actively engage sales team in all sales opportunities uncovered and provide ongoing support to the process with in-person, phone, and email support.
  • Assist sales representatives with maintaining & growing relationships, including supporting the negotiation and closing of deals.
  • Develop a program to identify and follow-up on A&D leads.
  • Identify key influencers and decision makers to drive the awareness and sales of Trueform’s products in the market.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic market influencers (architects, engineers, designers, property managers, developers, etc.) This may also include strategic partnership relationships.

Marketing Participation:

  • Work with the Marketing department to recommend industry event participation throughout the year.
  • Represent Company at trade association meetings (e.g., AIA, ASID, DPHA, etc.), trade shows, and other events to promote our brand and products.
  • Deliver industry-specific, accredited Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to Architects and Designers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide input into marketing and promotion activities, with the goal to drive sales.
  • Communicate results of sales-led initiatives (i.e., trade/industry events, etc.) to further optimize future participation and justify the expense.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Provide feedback on marketing, product, and design departments to help inform adjustments to marketing strategy and product roadmap to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Provide competitive assessments and recommendations to grow market share.
  • Give input to marketing collateral, product spec sheets, and other material required to support the sales process.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and propose price adjustments to maximize profitable sales growth.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Inside Sales team leader.
  • Experience selling high-end interior building products within a manufacturing company.
  • Proven track-record of proactive selling.
  • Comfortable working on-site at our Wharton, NJ manufacturing site.
  • Experience in managing a team of sales associates in an on-site in-office setting.
  • Experience working with architects & designers.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to think critically, and to drive fact-based decisions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
