About the Role:
As a Sales Representative, you will play a vital role in driving revenue growth by developing relationships with trade professionals, including architects, interior designers, custom home builders, and HVAC contractors. You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and guiding prospects through the sales process—from lead to close.
This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role ideal for a motivated, design-savvy individual who thrives in a professional sales environment and is passionate about delivering premium solutions. Vent Covers Unlimited is a one-stop shop for all grilles and vent covers, with specific emphasis on own brand solutions: Madelyn Carter, Reggio Registers, and Baseboarders—all known for high-quality architectural and HVAC solutions.
- Location: Remote
- Reports to: Sales Manager
- Total Compensation: Target compensation of $60,000 - $80,000 annually. (Includes base salary PLUS UNCAPPED Sales Commission)
- Base Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, non-exempt. (Experience & interview performance will determine actual number within the range)
- Schedule: Primarily M–F, 8am–5pm. Available for some evenings and weekends. Flexible with scheduling, including overtime.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Goals: Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets with integrity, consistency, and attention to detail.
- B2B Sales Outreach: Proactively prospect and manage relationships with architects, designers, custom home builders, HVAC professionals, and remodeling contractors.
- Client Relationship Development: Act as a trusted advisor by understanding the unique needs of trade clients and providing tailored product recommendations.
- Industry Expertise: Cultivate a deep knowledge of our product lines and translate technical specs into compelling solutions for trade audiences. Prior experience in building materials or selling into HVAC, design, or construction channels is highly preferred.
- Business Development: As the role grows, take the lead on building channel-specific strategies and identifying new verticals for expansion.
- Sales Support: Prepare professional, accurate quotes, proposals, and contract documents; follow up consistently to drive conversions.
- Lead Management: Promptly engage leads from trade shows, online inquiries, referrals, and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Customer Support, Fulfillment, Marketing) to ensure seamless client experience.
- Market Insight: Stay current on design and construction trends, competitor products, and project pipelines within the residential and light commercial sectors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience selling interior building products within a manufacturing company preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Design, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Enthusiasm for building materials, design, architecture, or related industries.
- Entrepreneurship, self-starter. Willingness to become subject matter expert for covered brands.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Tech savvy and proficiency in CRM tools like Salesforce and/or NetSuite is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Business development experience is a plus.
