Job Overview:

As a Sewing Specialist - Product Development, you'll play a vital role in achieving production goals in the fabrics department. You'll utilize industrial sewing equipment and marine-grade materials, and you may also be cross trained in other areas, to support overall company goals. As part of long-term planning, you could play a critical role in the training and development of future Sewing Specialists. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for completing predetermined prioritized-orders, while communicating effectively to peers and management within the department. Job will require being exposed to the environment in a warehouse setting. At Ledge, your career isn’t just a job – it’s a journey of continuous elevation and achievement.

  1. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how your role will impact completion.
  2. Communicate to Management ideas to improve runtime
  3. Review your daily production goal, and report potential risks to the Manager
  4. Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excess
  5. Maintain flexibility for changing priorities
  6. Manage execution on orders and coordinate adjustments for completion
  7. Communicate production updates to Manager
  8. Safely identify and operator tools, supplies, and equipment
  9. Must be able to work well under pressure, in a fast- paced environment
  10. Follow patterns to manufacture apparel and other pieces
  11. Ability to perform all aspects of process engineering for sewing and related equipment.
  12. Initiate and implement cost saving ideas.
Requirements
  • Must have 5+ years experience in sewing.
  • Must be proficient in sewing.
  • Must be familiar on using a Juki Sewing Machine DDL-8700 Model
  • Must be fluent in English, bilingual is a plus.
  • Developing new and optimizing existing fabric constructions to meet various product requirements.
  • Collaborating with different teams for product design and development.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Handling sample development to product launch.
  • Monitoring and improving quality control processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Direct and coordinate the fabrication of models or samples and the drafting of working drawings and specification ideas from reality.
