About the role of Jr. UI/UX Designer:
Reporting to the Sr. UI/UX Designer, this hire will be responsible for designing website improvements that will be A/B tested and implemented across our multiple eCommerce brands. You will need to translate business objectives into design solutions and measure your success with KPI impact. You will work closely with product leaders across our eCommerce brands and development teams to realize your vision.

Our goal for this role is to mentor this individual into a design leader who will lead and refine the design process at our portfolio companies. You will gain the opportunity to define a site’s evolution during quarterly and yearly plannings. You will also gain a deeper understanding in KPI analysis, ideation / prioritization, and quantification of how updates will contribute to the overall business strategy, allowing you to blend business thinking with your designs.
Responsibilities:
- Create and evolve the look and feel of DFC’s portfolio websites through investigative efforts, collaboration with business stakeholders, and integrating UX best practices. This will involve:
- Working collaboratively with brand, engineers, and analysts to conceive, design, and deliver brilliant solutions to our customers.
- Communicating and reviewing your design solutions with stakeholders to iterate on designs.
- Conducting UX audits on our portfolio websites to identify opportunities to improve.
- Conducting customer research to gain insight into customer journeys.
- Test and validate designs through A/B testing and findings from user interviews and sales reps/customer care.
- Find a balance between the overall user experience and optimizing conversion rate.
- Help establish process improvements to drive efficiency in our design and development process.
- Establish key UI design documents such as style guides, creative briefs, and content libraries.
- Perform QA on designs after the initial development phase, communicate bugs, and sign-off that design and functionality are as intended.
Skills:
Required Skills
- 1+ years of full-time experience working as a UX/UI designer for a web or mobile property
- Proficient with prototyping tools, including Figma, or other similar tools
- Proficient with design tools, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other similar tools
- Ability to work quickly and independently, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to think critically to create hypothesis driven design solutions based on real business problems
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Portfolio with demonstrated work
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing in an A/B testing process using tools such as Optimizely, Monetate or other similar tools
- Strong design aesthetic
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics)
- Ability to identify key stakeholders
- Fluency in digital KPIs
- Jira or similar project management system
- eCommerce, agency or freelance experience
